‘Faker’ Lee Sang-hyuk sidelined for now with right arm pain

T1’s Lee “Faker” Sang-hyuk is taking a break due to pain in his right arm.

T1 announced on its social media channels on Friday that “Lee Sang-hyuk recently felt pain in his right arm and hand area,” adding, “After discussions with the players and the team, we have decided to take a break for a few weeks to ensure his smooth treatment and recovery.”

“I recently felt a pain in my arm, which hindered my performance,” Lee said at the victorious team’s press conference after the Nongshim Red Force game on April 2. He also said that he felt uncomfortable playing since the OK Savings Bank Brion game on March 17.

T1 said on their social media that “Lee Sang-hyuk’s condition did not improve, so he underwent a detailed examination at a specialized hospital,” adding, “As a result of the X-ray and MRI examinations, he received the opinion of a specialist that there is no major abnormality.”

“We will continue to support him with professional physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs so that he can play at his best again,” T1 said, adding, “He will also focus on his recovery with the goal of returning during the 2023 ‘LoL Champions Korea’ (LCK) Summer League 가입머니.”

For the time being, T1’s starting mid laner position will be filled by second teamer Yoon “Fobby” Sung-won. Yoon will take over for Lee “Fobby” Seong-won starting with the first round of the Summer League against DRX on May 5. The remaining four positions will be filled by existing roster members.
