‘Polite greeting followed by induction’ 4 starters go 6 innings, 7 K’s… 149km sidearm, left-handed hitters are scary.

If I had to rank him, I’d say he’s a #4 starter. But right now, he’s an ace.

KT Wiz’s Uhm Sang-baek shut down the Doosan Bears’ bats to earn his seventh win of the season.

The right-hander pitched six innings of three-hit, one walk, seven strikeouts and no runs against the Doosan Bears at Jamsil Stadium on Saturday, leading his team to a 4-1 victory. His seventh win of the season.

Has thrown six or more innings in each of his last six starts.

After getting out of the first inning with a triple, Uhm was able to pitch with a lighter load on his shoulders in the top of the second as Kim Sang-soo hit a two-run double and Choi Byeong-dae drove in a run for a 4-0 lead.

In the bottom of the second, he gave up the first hit to Kim In-tae, but struck out Kim Jae-hwan and Yang Seok-hwan to retire Kang Seung-ho.

After getting out of the third inning with a triple, Uhm faced his biggest crisis in the fourth. He gave up a leadoff triple to Ahn Jae-seok and a walk to Rojas. Runners on first and third.

After striking out Kim Jae-hwan in the fourth to give himself some breathing room, Uhm Sang-baek faced another hard hit by Kim In-tae, who had allowed a hit in his first at-bat. However, first baseman Oh Yoon-seok made a picture-perfect diving catch to nab Kim In-tae and then threw out the runner at second base to end the inning. 먹튀검증

In the bottom of the fifth inning, he hit Yang Seok-hwan with a hard pitch. As Yang Seok-hwan reached first base in excruciating pain, he took off his hat beforehand and politely greeted him with apologies. Back in the game, Uhm got Kang Seung-ho to pop out to the shortstop and Jang Seung-hyun to fly out to center field, but Heo Kyung-min grounded out to third base. The bottom of the sixth inning ended with a triple play. With 85 pitches, I wondered if he would pitch in the seventh inning, but KT brought up Son Dong-hyun to start the seventh inning.

More than half of his 85 pitches, 47, were changeups (126-134 mph), with 22 cutters (136-142 mph) and 16 fastballs (142-149 mph).

Doosan batted five left-handed hitters, Jung Soo-bin, Ahn Jae-seok, Rojas, Kim Jae-hwan, and Kim In-tae, in the No. 1 through No. 5 spots to try to take advantage of Uhm Sang-baek. However, Uhm held the five batters to two hits in 12 at-bats, proving that he is no slouch against left-handed hitters.

After the game, Uhm said, “My pitches worked as I wanted them to. “I tried to follow (Jang) Sung-woo-hyung’s lead and throw well, and I was more focused on helping the team continue its winning streak,” he said after the game. “I hope the team can continue their winning streak. I will continue to play well so that I can contribute.”

With the win, the team improved to 11-2 in August with an 8-4 record. In 12 of the 13 games, starting pitchers went five or more innings, six or more in 11, and seven or more in eight. That’s some scary starting baseball, and Uhm has been at the center of it.
