The French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has finally completed its free agency period. It’s time to reveal the players they’ve paid for, including Lee Kang-in.
PSG embarked on a major rebuild this summer. They let go of Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, who were committed through the 2022/23 season. They also parted ways with coach Christophe Galtier.
Milan Skriniar, Luca Hernandez, Marco Asensio, Cher N’Dour, and Manuel Ugarte were among the names mentioned as possible replacements. Lee Kang-i, who starred for Mallorca in the 2022/23 season, is also on PSG’s list.
After reaching career highs with six goals and six assists for Mallorca, Lee was initially linked with a move to fellow Spanish league side Atletico Madrid. However, while Mallorca and Atletico stalled over the transfer fee, PSG swooped in and snatched him up.
Over the past month, there has been a steady stream of reports suggesting that Lee Kang-In is headed to PSG. There were even rumors that Lee had completed his medical in Paris, where he had a stopover in France before returning home for the June A-League match.
However, no official announcement was made. PSG wanted to complete the signings in time for the new season’s books to open in July in order to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, and they were reluctant to announce the players before they had a clear candidate to succeed Galtier, whose departure was widely expected.
Luis Enrique, who coached the Spanish national team until last year, emerged as the favorite to take over. PSG quickly negotiated with Enrique and finally announced his appointment on May 5, after terminating Galtier’s contract.
The official relay started with Enrique. First up were the free agent signings.
PSG announced the signing of Inter Milan center back Milan Skrteliar on the club’s official website on June 6.
Three hours later, the club announced the signing of Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio on a free transfer. With two players whose contracts with their former clubs expired on the 30th of last month, PSG is now ready to announce the players they have brought in for transfer fees.
That means we’ll soon see the official confirmation of Lee Kang-In’s transfer to PSG. PSG has already finalized a transfer fee with Mallorca. It is said to be around €22 million, less than the €25 million buyout.
Spain’s Marca also reported on July 7 that “PSG are waiting to sign Lee Kang-in. Lee will fly to Paris in the next few hours to become PSG’s newest player, 메이저사이트” said a source.
“PSG first announced their free agent signings, with N’Dour expected to be next. The club will then formalize the signings of Ugarte, Lukaku and Lee Kang-in,” the report said, adding that the announcement of the transfer stars will follow one after the other.
