Table tennis sensation Shin Yubin ‘swept’ both women’s singles and doubles at WTT

South Korean table tennis sensation Shin Yubin (#9-Korean Air) won both the women’s singles and doubles titles at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender Lima. It was her second consecutive title at the event, following her victory at the Contender Lagos in June.

Shin defeated Romania’s top-ranked Sutz 4-1 (9-11 11-9 11-9 11-8 11-7) in the final on Sunday (July 7) in Lima, Peru.

Shin dropped the first set to Sutz’s backhand and tricky service, but bounced back with a steady performance.

This was Shin’s second WTT singles title of the year.

Shin also teamed up with Jeon Jeon-hee to win the doubles title, defeating Kim Na-young and Choi Hyo-joo 3-2 (11-9 9-11 8-11 13-11 12-10).

It was their third title at this year’s WTT after winning the first women’s doubles silver medal in 36 years at the 2023 World Table Tennis Championships in May.

“I’m very happy to have won two titles,” said Shin, “and I’m grateful to my sister Jeon Jeon-hee, brother Lim Jong-hoon, and my coaches for working with me.” 스포츠토토

“I will do my best to perform well at the upcoming Asian Games, so please support me,” she added.
